IAWPA Rivers State Chapter Extends Humanitarian Support to Port Harcourt Correctional Centre

As part of its commitment to promoting peace through humanitarian efforts, the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) Rivers State Chapter has extended support to inmates at the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre.

On Tuesday, 1st April 2025, at 11:00 AM, members of the organization visited the facility to donate essential items, including clothing (both old and new), tissue rolls, disinfectants, soaps, and detergents. This initiative aims to improve the living conditions of the inmates and reaffirm IAWPA’s dedication to social welfare and community service.

Speaking on the gesture, representatives of IAWPA Rivers State Chapter emphasized the importance of extending kindness and support to all members of society, including those in correctional facilities. They reiterated that peacebuilding goes beyond advocacy—it requires tangible actions that uplift the vulnerable and promote dignity for all.

The visit to the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre aligns with IAWPA’s broader mission of fostering global peace through humanitarian services, reinforcing the belief that small acts of kindness can create lasting positive change in communities.
