World Habitat Day 2025: Urban Crisis Response
World Habitat Day is marked on the first Monday of October each year and is recognized by the United Nations to reflect on the state of towns and cities, as well as the basic right of all people to adequate shelter. The day also serves as a reminder that everyone has the power and responsibility to shape the future of towns and cities.
The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), a world-class organization with United Nations ECOSOC Special Consultative Status since 2019, is set to host a landmark observance of World Habitat Day 2025 in Ondo State, Nigeria.
This year’s event, themed “Urban Crisis Response”, will take place on:
📅 Date: Monday, 6th October 2025
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM
📍 Venue: Solton Hotel, Ijapo Estate, Akure, Ondo State
World Habitat Day is observed globally to reaffirm the collective responsibility of ensuring that everyone has access to decent shelter and sustainable urban living conditions.
The 2025 theme sheds light on one of the most pressing issues of our time—how to respond to the growing urban crises affecting millions worldwide, including housing shortages, climate challenges, and displacement.
