SDG SCHOOL TO SCHOOL AWARENESS: Ebo Comprehensive Academy Plays Host To IAWPA

The International association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) continued its School To School Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) awareness campaign with a visit to Ebo Comprehensive Academy in Port Harcourt. The campaign which is aimed at raising awareness of students as regards the activities of the United Nations Organisation UNO and the Sustainable Development Goals is expected to cover all schools and churches in the country. Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke who is the International Spokesman of the association said it is regrettable that Nigeria ranks 147 out of 154 countries that have achieved the set goals of the SDG. He said the fact that the country is lagging behind is as a result of the low level of awareness of the SDG by policy makers in the country. “It is regrettable that the country is behind many countries that has achieved some of the set goals of the SDG. It was indeed a moment of historic visit as the Enugu State Governor’s Wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Monica Ugwuanyi received our team on a courtesy visit in her office inside the Enugu State Government House. Her Excellency, Monica Ugwuanyi remains the first Governor’s Wife in Nigeria to welcome a team on SDG. Amb. At Winners International School, Bayelsa State, Nigeria, the International Association of World Peace Advocates under the leadership of Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke was there during their End-of-Year Activity 2017. One of the highlights of the event was the delivery of expository lecture on the SDG by Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke. Edo State in Nigeria is one of the states that enjoyed our conference on SDG. This time is on how to implement the SDG. Same time, provides a first hand information on the SDG as a pre-requisite to its implementation. Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke was there to make the conference assume its desired target.
