IAWPA FCT CHAPTER's VISIT TO JK'S HOME FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) FCT Chapter ably led by its Coordinator Amb. Sunday Lawal and other members embarked on a humanitarian visit to JK's Home for Children with Special Needs in Abuja. The visit aimed to provide support, care, and advocacy for children with special needs, while promoting the organization's mission of fostering peace, unity, and inclusivity.
The primary objective of the visit was to:
1. Provide emotional support and care to children with special needs.
2. Donate essential items and cash to the home
3. Advocate for the rights and well-being of children with special needs.
4. Strengthen partnerships with organizations supporting children with special needs.
During the visit, IAWPA members:
1. Interacted with the children, engaging in fun activities, such as story telling
2. Presented donations, including food,cash and other items
3. Met with the management and staff of JK's Home to discuss ways to support the children and the organization.
4. Conducted a needs assessment to identify areas for future support.
The visit revealed:
1. The dedication and commitment of the staff and management of JK's Home in providing care and support to children with special needs.
2. The need for continued support and resources to enhance the quality of life for the children.
3. The importance of advocacy and awareness-raising to promote the rights and inclusion of children with special needs.
Conclusion:
IAWPA FCT 's visit to JK's Home for Children with Special Needs was a rewarding experience, highlighting the organization's commitment to supporting vulnerable populations. The visit demonstrated the power of collaboration and the impact of collective efforts in promoting peace, unity, and inclusivity.
Recommendations:
1. IAWPA to establish a long-term partnership with JK's Home to provide ongoing support and resources.
2. Conduct regular visits and activities to engage with the children and staff.
3. Advocate for policy changes and support initiatives that promote the rights and inclusion of children with special needs.
