NIGERIA POLICE FORCE ORGANIZES YOUTH SUMMIT TO CELEBRATE UN INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

The Nigeria Police Force is set to host a Youth Summit on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the Nigeria Police Resource Center in Jabi, Abuja, to celebrate the 2024 International Youth Day. This event underscores the vital role of youth in national development and security.

Under the theme “Harnessing Youth Potential for National Security,” the summit will feature lively and engaging discussions on youth empowerment, national security, and intelligence. Attendees will actively participate in interactive sessions on crime prevention, conflict resolution, and social media’s impact on community engagement. The summit will also highlight innovative solutions from Nigerian youth addressing the nation’s challenges.

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD., NPM., emphasised the importance of this event, stating, “This initiative is crucial for celebrating UN International Youth Day and enhancing national security through active youth participation.”

He reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to inclusive practices and integrating diverse sectors for effective policing. The summit aligns with the Inspector-General’s vision for a safer Nigeria by promoting collaboration between the youth and the police. It aims to increase youth involvement in national security and development initiatives.
